Bodegas Nekeas, Tinto 2023

Bodegas Nekeas is a co-operative winery operating in the Valdizarbe valley of Navarra, Spain, formed by several local vine-growing families. They farm high-altitude vineyards (420-650 m) on clay- and rocky-soil slopes, under a sustainable viticulture ethos. From vine-to-bottle they manage the process themselves, aiming for clarity of site and fruit-driven wines that reflect their mountain-influenced terroir. This 2023 Tinto is a youthful red blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha (≈50/50) from Navarra. Deep cherry-red in the glass with lifted aromas of wild strawberries, black cherry and a hint of wild herbs. The palate is fresh and juicy, showing red berry fruit, subtle spice and gentle tannins, finishing with clean vibrancy. Drink now through the next 3-5 years.
